What does telc C1 stand for ?

The telc exam C1 is a recognized German certificate, which proves that you have advanced knowledge of the German language. This exam is for adults, who need German skills for their business or social life.

What do I have to know, to pass the telc exam?

People with level C1 certificate are able to fluently and spontaneously express themselves. They are used to colloquial phrases and they are able to diversify their linguistic style. Furthermore they can use the language with a high degree of grammatical accuracy. 

What exactly is part of the telc exam?

The exam is devided into a written and an oral part. The written part takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes including a 20 min break. Before starting the oral exam you will have 20 minutes to prepare yourself. The date of the oral exam might differ from the date of the written exam.

When will I get the test result?   

You will receive the test results after 4-6 weeks.

The exam can be reapeted as often as needed until the end of the year. Instead of repeating the whole exam, it is possible to only repeat the failed part, if you only passed the written or oral part. You can find more information in § 5 from the examination regulations.
