telc Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all telc examinations conducted at the examination center Studienkolleg Düsseldorf.

Registration Confirmation

Registration for the telc examination is done either in writing online or in person on-site. The participant fills out an online form or a form on-site at Studienkolleg Düsseldorf with all the important information required by Studienkolleg Düsseldorf. After registration, the applicant will receive a confirmation of their registration and a request to pay the examination fee:

Level B1 – €170.-
Level B2 – €170.-
Level C1 – €190.-

In the event of late payment, there is no claim to the reserved examination slot. The proof of bank transfer serves as the claim to an examination slot. The claim to an examination slot expires as soon as all slots have been allocated. Proofs of transfer will be considered according to the date and time of receipt.

Extraordinary Events

In the event of extraordinary events that make the provision of services technically or economically unreasonable, Studienkolleg Düsseldorf may postpone or cancel the examination. Further claims are excluded.

Internal Registration Deadline

Registration and payment for the examination must be completed 30 days before a written examination. Late registrations up to 10 days before the examination are subject to an additional fee. Registration and payment for a telc examination after the official registration deadline has expired (before 2:00 PM on the final day) is possible upon payment of a fee of 30 Euro.

telc Preparation Course

The telc preparation course will only take place if a minimum of seven participants is reached; otherwise, the course will either be postponed free of charge or the fees will be refunded. This will be announced at the latest one week before the start of the preparation course.

Cancellation

After registering for an examination, cancellation is no longer possible, and a refund is excluded. An exception is the cancellation of the examination due to illness. In these cases, the examination can be postponed to a later date if a medical certificate is submitted at the latest on the day of the examination. An additional processing fee of 30 Euro will be charged for the first rebooking. For a repeated rebooking, a processing fee of 50 Euro will be charged. A maximum of 2 rebookings may be requested.

Transfer

The transfer of a booked examination slot to another person is excluded.

Credit of Partial Results

The examination participant is entitled to have their most recently achieved partial result credited; this means they can have their oral or written examination credited until the end of the following calendar year by attaching a copy of the result sheet containing both parts. The responsibility for checking the accuracy, completeness, and validity of the examination parts already passed lies with the participants.

Repeating a telc Examination

telc examinations for levels B1, B2, C1, and C2 can be repeated as often as the participant wishes. The oral examination or the written examination can be repeated or made up until the end of the calendar year following the first attempt. Repeating individual subtests is not permitted. The result of the exam most recently taken always counts.

Oral Examination

Please note that the oral examination may take place on a different date than the written examination. Information regarding the oral examination will be provided with the invitation to the examination. Information regarding the oral examination is provided exclusively by the examination center.

Urgent Evaluation (Eilauswertung)

Since 2021, urgent evaluations are no longer available. The normal evaluation time is 4-6 weeks.

Invitation to the Examination

In good time before the examination (5-7 days), Studienkolleg Düsseldorf will send you an invitation with information regarding the location and time of the examination.
