Who Needs a G-Course?

Foreign applicants who need to attend a Studienkolleg in Germany and wish to study in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies, such as German studies, journalism, law, history, literary studies, as well as art and design. The G-Course provides necessary preparation for the Feststellungsprüfung in subjects like German, German literature, history, and social sciences.

What are the Requirements for Participating in the G-Course?

You should already have at least B1 or B2 level proficiency in German, with prior knowledge at C1 level being advantageous.

What Can you Study with the G-Course?

Upon successful completion of the G-Course at Studienkolleg Düsseldorf and passing the FSP, you have the option to study the following programs at German universities:

Questions about the G-Course

Is there an entrance exam for the G-Course?

No, there is no entrance exam at Studienkolleg Düsseldorf. Instead, we assess your graduation certificates, school grades, and German language skills to determine your qualification for Studienkolleg Düsseldorf. The required German proficiency level for participating in the G-Course is B1.

Do I need an official B1 language certificate?

No, a participation certificate from a language school is sufficient for applying to Studienkolleg Düsseldorf.

At least B1 level proficiency in German is required for participation. After registration, you have the option to submit a participation certificate or a language certificate at this level.

The proof of German proficiency can be issued in the form of a participation certificate from a language school or an official language certificate such as telc, Goethe, TestDaf, DSH, or DSD.

Can I participate in the G-Course online?

Yes, we offer you the option to choose whether you want to participate in the G-Course online or on-site in the first semester, so you can learn flexibly regardless of your location. In the second semester, you must attend the G-Course on-site at Studienkolleg Düsseldorf because we conduct many exam simulations and exam training sessions on-site.

How do I get admission to the G Course?

  • Submit documents via email: Send your registration documents or application documents to info@stk-duesseldorf.de by email. You can find the list of required documents on the lower section of our website under the “Application” section.
  • Document review: The Studienkolleg team carefully reviews your submitted documents and promptly informs you of the result.
  • Payment of tuition fees: After verifying your documents, Studienkolleg will send you an invoice for the tuition fees. Transfer the tuition fees to Studienkolleg to confirm your registration and receive admission to the G-Course.
  • Receive admission notification from Studienkolleg Düsseldorf: You will receive an official confirmation via email once the tuition fees have been paid and you have been admitted to the G-Course.
